Whether you need on-tool extraction, or an industrial vacuum to collect dust, liquid, oil, or metal shavings on site – we have you covered.
18th September 2023RVT is pleased to announce that we have two new heavy-duty and powerful M Class vacuums readily available for customers to hire. We have the DUSTEX® B2 Vacuum and DUSTEX® B4 Vacuum, both with high suction power and a robust design, a vacuum like this is an essential piece of kit for every site.
Both the Dustex® B2 and Dustex® B4 vacuums are ideal for collecting construction dust and debris, and the units have many of same impressive features, such as a large collection container and filtering to up to a HEPA standard. However, there are a few differentiating features which will determine which vacuum is best suited to your project.
As well as dust and debris, the Dustex® B2 Vacuum can also collect solids, powders, oils and metal shavings. If you have a variety of different trades and works taking place on site, this is a seamless solution that will easily tidy up and remove an abundance of different hazards on site.
Alternatively, as well as standard vacuum cleaning of dust and debris, the Dustex® B4 Vacuum can also be used for on-tool extraction, and it is designed to work with many tools and various accessories on site. So, if your project is heavily focussed on using equipment such as grinders, wall chasers, and cut off saws, this is the ideal vacuum solution for you.
When working with lead, carbon or other carcinogenic or toxic substances, an M Class Vacuum is unsuitable, and you must use a H class vacuum, such as the DUSTEX® Attix 30-OH Vacuum. If you’re unsure which industrial vacuum is safe and compliant for your project, please contact RVT Group, and a technical consultant will be on hand to provide you with free best practice advice.
Dust is created when grinding, cutting, and drilling materials such as wood, MDF, concrete, and other materials on site. If dust is not controlled, it can become airborne, which can leave workers exposed to health risks such as heart disease, lung disease, respiratory problems, asbestosis, silicosis, and cancer. Using an M Class vacuum will ensure the safe collection and disposal of harmful construction dust on site and keep the air clean and safe for site operatives to breathe.
M Class vacuums are certified to extract and filter 0.1% Dusts with maximum allowable concentrations ≥ 0.1 mg/m³, making them suitable for dusts such as Respirable Crystaline Silica Dust, Ferrous Dusts, Gypsum Dusts and Hardwood Dusts.
BEWARE – Using an unrated vacuum cleaner is very dangerous. It can make airborne dust worse because respirable dust can pass through the motor and be pumped back into the air. The dust will then remain airborne for up to 8 hours, making it more susceptible to be inhaled by workers.
Also, don’t forget to Ban The Broom on site! Using a broom to sweep settled dust will increase the level of airborne dust – putting the health of workers at risk. Download this poster and pin it to your site notice board to remind your team of the risks associated with using a broom.
