We have therefore developed an ESG strategy that seeks to reduce the impact that our operations have on the environment, while building positive relationships with our staff, customers, suppliers, local community and the industries we serve.
We have made a considerable number of changes over the years, but we know there is still more to be done!
RVT offer customers a variety of alternative power sources. For example our monitors can be run on solar power or powered by our new Hydrogen Fuel Cell Unit. We also offer HVO as an alternative to diesel, which can reduce CO2e by 90%.
An external consultant has conducted a carbon footprint assessment and helped us to plan further actions to reduce our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
RVT have introduced a brand new water management solution, EnviroHub, to help site managers treat and discharge site water in a compliant and environmentally sustainable way.
Our Diesel Particulate Filter Kits (DPFs) filter and remove 95% of harmful diesel particulate, making them ideal for protecting both people and the environment from DEEEs.
100% of used filters and old Soundex Curtains are recycled and re-purposed as recyclate derived fuel.
With safety and sustainability in mind, our workshop team service & repair our equipment between every hire and conduct a Thorough Examination and Test (TExT).
100% of recyclable office and warehouse waste is recycled.
In addition to upgrading 33% of our fleet vehicles to electric, we have opened new storage facilities around the UK which has enabled us to reduce our road miles for deliveries and collections. Eg. East Kilbride depot supports deliveries into Scotland.
90% of our office and warehouse have been refitted with energy efficient LED lighting.
We have reduced single use plastic and paper consumption to almost zero. Our delivery drivers now use an App to log PODs and collection documents, our accounts department send invoices electronically and many of our operational processes are now paperless.
80% of invoices and confirmation of orders are now sent electronically (instead of printed).
99% of our waste is recycled or repurposed as refuse derived fuel (RDF). We also switched our head office to a renewable energy tariff and switched all lighting to energy efficient LED lighting.
Between 2018 and 2019 we reduced our electricity consumption per head by 11.7%
RVT aim to donate 2% of turnover to charities that align with our company values and corporate mission. In 2023, we donated a total of £495,900 to charity. We have also set 9 brand-new social responsibility goals.
70% of our transport suppliers are carbon neutral and we aim to increase this figure to 85% by 2023.

Our ESG strategy has been built with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in mind, and we have set ourselves 7 new environmental goals and 9 new social responsibility goals.
An external consultant has conducted a carbon footprint assessment and helped us to formulate a plan to reduce our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, so that we can be Carbon Neutral by 2024 and Net Zero by 2029.
We also promise to continue investing in research & development, working with sustainable suppliers, supporting our local community, and providing a great place for our staff to work.
