Ban the Broom

Are you and your team aware of the risks when using a broom? Pin this poster to your notice board to raise awareness.

Using a broom will increase the level of airborne dust. When dust particles are inhaled, they can cause irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. It can also make conditions such as Asthma worse. However, the most dangerous dust particles are the smaller respirable dust particles which can get lodged deep into the lungs and cause long-term health problems such as silicosis, COPD and lung cancer.

This poster also highlights the difference between M-class and H-class vacuums and gives examples of suitable vacuums for site work.
