RVT’s fundraising provides sweet treats for local children in need.
9th April 2021For our first fundraising event of 2021, RVT teamed up with Home-Start to provide sweet treats for local families in need over the Easter period.
Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support, helping families with young children during challenging times. The charity works tirelessly to improve the quality of life for these families and, in 2019, Home-Start supported 56,000 children in 27,000 families across the UK. Over the 2020 Christmas period, RVT were delighted to donate homemade food hampers to Home-Start for local families to enjoy, and we were eager to work with the charity again this Easter.
The RVT team gave generously and an amazing £200 was raised, allowing us to send nearly 100 Easter Eggs to Home-Start. The charity’s volunteers worked tirelessly to distribute the chocolate across the local area in time for the Easter weekend, and it is safe to say that their efforts were much appreciated!
The Easter Egg Appeal has been another brilliant way to contribute to the local community during these challenging times. At RVT Group, everything we do is based on our six core values; Can Do Attitude, Respect for All, Enthusiastic and Positive, Honest and Accountable, Deliver Excellence, and Care for Others. One of the ways that we like to show “Care for Others” is through donating to a diverse range of charities.
And our 2021 fundraising is just getting started! Another charity we proudly support is The British Lung Foundation who care for those living with debilitating lung disease. As it is RVT’s mission is to protect the long-term health of all those on site or nearby from hazards such as dust and fume, this is a cause very close to our hearts. Every year, the team take part in the Couch to 5K for BLF and this year is no different. We are excited to be getting our running shoes back on for this great cause on 25th June.
We have donated over £10,000 in the last three years to The British Lung Foundation. Could we reach £15,000 in 2021? More information is on the way. Watch this space!
