RVT staff go head-to-head in a friendly photography competition to see who can take the best nature and/or wildlife themed photo!
15th May 2025At RVT Group we love to support a wide range of charities and causes, especially those that fit closely with our company values. Therefore, during the month of March we decided to raise money for Rewilding Britain whose aim is the mass restoration of ecosystems in Britain.
Rewilding Britain is the large-scale restoration of ecosystems to the point where nature can take care of itself. They want to live in a world where we all face up to the scale of destruction and help put an end to further degradation and start to recover what we’ve lost. By 2030, Rewilding Britain hope to restore areas of rich natural habitats across Britain’s land and sea by 30%.
To help raise money for Rewilding Britain, we asked our staff to compete in the annual RVT Goes Wild! photography competition. This is where staff put their photography skills to the test by capturing their best nature and/or wildlife themed photo; in the hope of being crowned RVT’s top photographer!
This competition ran throughout the whole of March, giving RVT staff plenty of time to head outdoors, enjoy the sunshine and get snapping! There was no limit with the number of photos submitted to the competition, but we did ask for all images to be sent with a unique and catchy title.
By the end of the month, we collated an impressive 58 entries, which were then sent to Rewilding Britain for judging. For this, Rewilding Britain were asked to select the Top 10 photos, the runners up and an overall winner (prizes to be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place).
When submitting photos for the competition, staff were asked to donate £3 (per entry) to the RVT Goes Wild! JustGiving page, which had the target of £500. By the end of March, we had managed to raise an amazing £380, which the directors generously topped up to £2,380 for Rewilding Britain!
The photos selected for the Top 10 of RVT Goes Wild! are as follows;
• 1st Place: “Golden Eyes” by Brendan Hicks – Won £100 Amazon Voucher
• 2nd Place: “Above the Morning Clouds” by Brook Layton – Won £50 Amazon Voucher
• 3rd Place: “The Formation of Nature” by Jenny Knightbridge – Won £25 Amazon Voucher
Congratulations to the Top 10 and overall winners! We want to thank all staff who participated in this incredible fundraiser. Not only was this a great opportunity to raise money for a wonderful organisation, but it was a nice way for all of us to improve our mental and physical wellbeing by enjoying everything nature has to offer!
