This monitor is an essential component for an effective water treatment system
30th June 2022The EnviroHub In-Stream Monitor continuously monitors water quality and provides real-time information and alerts.
This highly sensitive monitor is designed to report on the quality of bodies of water, such as rivers, streams, lakes, brooks and ponds. Turbidity, suspended solids estimate, pH and temperature parameters are all readily available, with further bespoke adaptions available on request.
The unit provides continuous data and sends real time alerts via email and text should a parameter be breached. Data is constantly uploaded to a cloud-based platform, providing real-time graph views in a user-friendly interface. You can also download historical data at any time for records and evidence of compliance.

This unit can also be used to double check water quality after site water has been cleansed, neutralised and discharged into a river under an Environmental Permit. This will not only give the site team peace of mind, but the data can also be used as evidence of compliance should any environmental questions arise.
The body of the monitor sits on dry land with hard-wired probes positioned within the water itself.
The probe locations can be configured on-site to suit a range of different physical environments as necessary.
If you are employing this unit to show evidence of compliance after site water has been cleansed, we would recommend that one unit is installed upstream and another downstream of the site or discharge location.
We recently supplied the In-Stream Probe to Contractors who were carrying out structural remedial works to a wall that runs alongside a river. To check that the repair works were not having a negative environmental impact and that silt levels remained at a low level, the EnviroHub In-Stream Probe was erected downstream so that they would be instantly alerted if undue silt levels were detected.
Water is a precious resource and construction activities can result in its contamination by sand, silt, clay, concrete, oils, metals and other pollutants. When polluted water is discharged from site, these materials can cause dangerous imbalances to our ecosystem, severely effecting natural wildlife and the environment. Water treatment is therefore vital in preventing significant environmental threats.
Not only must we protect our water resources and fragile eco-systems, but governing bodies, such as the Environmental Agency, are taking non-compliance increasingly seriously. With hefty fines being issued to polluters (a recent, record-breaking fine of £90 million has been issued[1]) and the threat of up to five years imprisonment if convicted in a Crown Court, companies must employ effective Water Treatment. Therefore, the In-Stream Monitor is a vital tool in checking that the Environment remains protected at all times..
