The HL50 water settlement tank is a simple but effective way of separating solids from water on site.
Silt laden contaminated water is fed into the unit in the back chamber, where it flows around into the base of the lamella plate section of the tank. The water stream flows upward between the inclined Lamella plates. With the reduced flow, the solids fall to the plate surface, where they slide by gravity, down the plate, to the sludge collection chamber at the bottom. The sludge is then periodically drained down using the valve at the bottom of the hopper.
The HL50 has an effective settling area of 50m², however, with rapidly settling solids or when introducing a flocculent, the flow rate can be increased due to faster settlement. These tanks are typically used with 4” and 6” pumps depending on the flow rate required.
