RVT Supports the Dartford Toy Appeal

For the past month, RVT staff have bought toys for the Dartford Toy Appeal. Staff members from all areas of the company joined together to help provide Christmas presents for vulnerable local children. RVT’s donations included Play-Doh, cuddly toys, books, building blocks, arts and crafts kits and much more, meaning that plenty of children of all ages will benefit from our fundraising!

So, what is the Dartford Toy Appeal?

The Dartford Toy Appeal is an annual event where donations of a variety of toys are collected and then gifted to local hospitals and charitable organisations. The Appeal first began in 2014, with around 40 toys being donated in the first year. The Appeal has gone from strength to strength, however, with an average of 2000+ toys now being collected each year!

When the Appeal closes, the toys are then distributed amongst a range of local organisations who then pass on the toys to children who are in need. These organisations include:

• The Women’s Refuge
• Rosewood Mums and Babies Unit
• Homestart
• Ellenor Hospice
• Mary’s Child
• We are Beams
• Imago (Kent Young Carers)
• Darent Valley Hospital

Thanks to all those at RVT who donated, a van-load of toys was delivered to one of the local check points, where they were very gratefully received!

The Appeal was a great way to contribute to the local community. Here at RVT, we always strive to care for others every day, and the company is built on six core values that all staff members aim to follow. These values are: Can Do Attitude, Respect for All, Enthusiastic and Positive, Honest and Accountable, Deliver Excellence, and Care for Others. We find that a great way to show “Care for Others” is through donating to a diverse range of charities, and we are very proud of our regular company-wide fundraising activities.
