We are delighted to be supporting mental health in the construction industry.
18th March 2024RVT Group is delighted to be supporting Rapid Relief Team (RRT) and the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity as they collaborate to raise awareness on mental health support in the construction industry.
Shocking statistics are emerging around the construction industry’s mental health. For example;
In January 2023, Lighthouse launched their industry wide initiative; Make it Visible. This campaign is committed to dispelling the stigma around mental health, making wellbeing support visible and accessible to those in the construction industry.
The charity has developed the Make It Visible Portal, where a wide range of mental, physical and financial wellbeing resources are available.
Additionally, the MIV team reaches out directly to those in the frontline of the industry the “on site tours”, regularly visiting construction companies, builder’s merchants, hire centres and sites across the UK and Ireland.
To date, the team has spoken to almost 30,000 people and visited almost 500 sites.
With suicide rates climbing, RRT also wanted to give support to the construction industry. With this in mind, they reached out to Lighthouse with a proposal to team up and offer mental health support to those in need together.
Construction Community Connect was born as the two charities began to collaborate, Lighthouse offering site workers mental health support and RRT providing coffee, sweet treats and hot meals during selected on site tours.
At RVT, we believe that the health of those on site, both mental and physical, is of the utmost importance and were eager to support both fantastic campaigns.
We are delighted to be the sole sponsor of the RRT campaign, and we are working closely with the charity to display care to those in need by providing a safe environment.
Additionally, we are also proud to sponsor a bespoke, RRT van which will be accompanying RRT and Lighthouse on selected on site tours from the end of March 2024.
Alongside the important messaging on display, the van is fitted out with a barista grade coffee machine and cooking equipment, ensuring that workers can enjoy a hot meal and refreshment on site.
We would like to say thank you to RRT and Lighthouse for this wonderful opportunity to help as many site workers as possible to get the support that they need, whether it is health & safety guidance, a decent meal, or the opportunity to seek service for their mental health.
We can’t wait to see the positive impact that the Construction Community Connect and Make It Visible campaigns will have across several construction sites.
