Bouygues UK, RVT Group and OnSite Support have teamed up to run a 1 hour Respiratory Risks Webinar at 9am on 22nd June 2022.
In December 2021, the HSE reported that every year 12,000 lung disease deaths are estimated to be linked to past exposures at work. COPD accounts for 34% of those deaths, Lung Cancer accounts for 23%, Asbestos accounts for 20% and Mesothelioma accounts for 20%. The Labour Force Survey also indicates that 17,000 new cases of work-induced breathing and lung problems are reported every year.
The HSE identified the following factors as some of the key factors causing or making ill-health worse;
• Airborne materials from spray painting or manufacturing foam products
• Airborne materials while welding, soldering, or cutting/grinding metals
• Dusts from stone, cement, brick or concrete
• General work conditions, eg. damp
As an industry, we need to ensure that we are fully protecting our workforce against these respiratory risks, which is why Bouygues UK, RVT Group and OnSite Support have teamed up to run a 1 hour Respiratory Risks Webinar.
