Inaugural Safety Show 2018

The inaugural Safety in Construction Show held at the iconic Derby Roundhouse earlier this month was attended by many senior decision makers and health and safety professionals from across the UK's construction and civil engineering industry.

The event was designed to bring together individuals who are key to delivering and maintaining health and safety practices on UK construction sites.

Thought leaders from the construction and civils industry presented on various health and safety topics. Some of the presentations from health professionals focused on one of the most common hazards found on construction sites – dust.

A hidden killer. It's estimated in the UK that silica-dust-related diseases kill around 500 people each year, while a further 4,000 die each year of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD). Both have been linked to work.

At RVT, we strive to provide highly effective protective equipment to help combat this deadly risk. We were pleased to display and discuss a range of equipment options with attendees at this event.

Our equipment on show included:

1. Our innovative Raptor, a self-contained portable dust-control unit designed to capture and filter dust from a wide range of tasks and applications.
2. Our magnetic diesel-exhaust filter kit, designed to filter the hazardous particulate fumes from diesel plant.
3. And our Ventex FA200CF Centrifugal fan, particularly suited to extracting dust and certain fumes from confined spaces.
