Action on Respiratory Health Summit, 2nd February 2021

Dust, mist, gases and vapours on site can have a serious impact on a person's respiratory health. According to HSE statistics, there are 12,000 deaths estimated to be linked to past exposure to chemicals or dust at work. More than 5000 of these deaths are due to asbestos related disease, and construction alone accounts for around half of this number. As an industry, we need to work together to reduce these figures and better protect the respiratory health of our work force.

With this in mind, RVT Group has joint forces with the Health in Construction Leadership Group, the Construction Dust Partnership, the British Occupational Hygiene Society, the Society of Occupational Medicine and the Health and Safety Executive, to launch the Action on Respiratory Health Summit. A variety of Health and Safety professionals from across the industry will be discussing their views on how we can improve respiratory health on site. Speakers will give their opinion on where we are now and where we are going; they will offer real-life case studies, best practice information and recommendations on where to start making small changes that will make a big difference.

Our panel of occupational health specialists and industry leaders will also discuss the wide variety of respiratory health hazards faced on site and to share best practice standards and solutions.

When and where is the event?

The event is taking place on Tuesday 2^nd February 2021 from 11am-1pm. RVT would usually host an event of this size in London, but due to the current pandemic, this will be an interactive online event hosted via Zoom.
