The EnviroHub Concrete Washout System provides a simple on-site solution for managing the environmental risks of concrete washout water. It is designed for receiving and treating water used to wash off concrete mixer chutes.
The system consists of two units; the Concrete Washout Bund & the pH Correction Tank.
How it works:
1. The Concrete Washout Bund holds a geotextile bag which receives the washdown water (not neat concrete slurry) and filters out aggregate, sand and fines. Water drains through the bag into the sump, and the bag is emptied or replaced as this fills up.
2. The high pH water is then automatically pumped to the adjacent correction tank, which consistently monitors the incoming water, and releases dosing CO2 gas as required to bring the pH down to below 9. The unit features an agitation stirrer, which ensures that the water is safely & consistently brought to within a pH level of 6 to 8. CO2 Gas cylinders are conveniently stored within the correction tanks cage.
3. A key feature is the onboard booster pump and hose, which allows treated water to be used to wash down the concrete chutes. This system can operate in a ‘closed loop’, limiting the total volume of water which comes into contact with concrete, removing the need for a drainage connection point, and reducing water usage. Alternatively, water can be disposal through an accredited waste disposal company or discharge as per your environmental permit.
