Regent’s Crescent was constructed between 1812-1821 and is Grade I listed. After the Blitz, the properties required extensive restoration, which resulted in the construction substandard office buildings behind the façade. In 2015, PDP Architects received planning permission to remove these structures and restore the buildings to residential use.
ChallengeLack of space meant temporary office and welfare areas were created within the confined basement of the existing buildings. Ventilation was vital in these new areas as dust, heat and lack of clean air all posed dangers.
SolutionRVT provided a 300mm Ventex Centrifugal Fan and 42 metres of ducting (including several lengths of perforated ducting). The heavy-duty centrifugal fan can deliver over 5,600m3 clean air per hour, which effectively cleared the environment of harmful toxins. Thanks to this powerful ventilation system, the Regent’s Crescent team worked safely and comfortably in the basement space.
