RVT Group are well-known for protecting people's health on site, but we are also passionate about protecting the environment.
We have therefore developed an ESG strategy that seeks to reduce the impact that our operations have on the environment, while building positive relationships with our staff, customers, suppliers, local community and the industries we serve.
Our ESG strategy has been built with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in mind, and we have set ourselves 7 new environmental goals and 9 new social responsibility goals.
An external consultant has conducted a carbon footprint assessment and helped us to formulate a plan to reduce our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, so that we can be Net Zero by 2029.
We also promise to continue investing in research & development, working with sustainable suppliers, supporting our local community, and providing a great place for our staff to work.
RVT's objective was to become carbon neutral by the end of 2024, and so we worked to reduce our carbon emissions as much as practically possible. At the end of 2024, our scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions were calculated at 250t CO2e, so we partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to offset these emissions via The Woodland Fund™.
Our plan is to continue working with supply chain partners to reduce all of our emissions, including scope 3 emissions. We have also registered with Planet Mark and are working towards becoming certified. Have you ever wondered whether it is more sustainable to hire or purchase a piece of equipment? We have listed 5 sustainable reasons why you should hire rather than purchase, according to The European Rental Association (ERA).
Companies that operate under a circular economy framework focus on how they can improve resource cycles and reduce waste, in order to reduce the impact they are having on the environment.
Let's not forget that the 'G' in 'ESG' stands for 'Governance'. Each year we renew a wide range of accreditations with external certification bodies to give our customers confidence that they are working with a reliable, ethical and sustainable supply chain partner.
