Working with Customers to Develop New Solutions

When it comes to hazard control, there is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution and every project poses its own unique challenges. That’s why over the past 30 years RVT Group have continually developed and launched new products that are suitable for niche sectors and project requirements. Whether you have required fume control for confined spaces, ventilation for enclosed work areas, dust control for hazardous dusts, or water treatment for contaminated water, we have developed new and innovative solutions to help ensure people and the environment are always protected.

Over the years we have worked in several different sectors, including construction, rail, healthcare, energy, utilities, oil and gas, defence, and more, so we are accustomed to attending sites in unusual locations, with limited access, or with other specific challenges which require an innovative solution. We therefore work with the site team to understand their challenges, deadlines and budgets, in order to recommend a tailored, cost-effective, reliable and compliant hazard control solution.

We are also continuously researching new technologies, evaluating market changes, liaising with customers and obtaining feedback via customer surveys. All of this information is fed back into our Research & Development plans so that we can launch and offer new and innovative solutions to our customers.

For example, various new solutions have been launched throughout 2022 - 2023, including:

DUSTEX® B4 Vacuum

New to the market: The RAVEX® D1200 Extraction Unit has been developed with large-scale industrial projects in mind

Most recently we have added the RAVEX® D1200 fume and dust control solution to our range of hire equipment. It has been specifically designed to extract contaminants created during construction, maintenance, and repair works such as welding, soldering, brazing, grinding, sanding, sawing, cutting, as well as several other site activities.

The diagram below shows an example of 3 of the extraction points in use. More extraction points can be made available if required.

Here are some of the key features that make this solution efficient on site:

  • This unit has multiple extraction points and can be used as a centralised vacuum system across a multistorey or very large facility where work is taking place in numerous areas at the same time. It has 8 x 100mm extractor ports, suitable to connecting 100mm diameter ducting. The ducting can be further split to create additional extraction points depending on site requirements.
  • The D1200 is incredibly powerful can extract airborne hazards via long duct runs and high duct velocities. It can be used with a range of tools, nozzles, and flexi hose for hard-to-reach areas.
  • It requires minimal maintenance and downtime on site. Automatic pulse jet cleaning, powered from an integrated compressor (150 PSI), is carried out on an as-required basis during operation and as part of the shut-down process.
  • Save time and money as waste materials feed back into one central location and various waste discharge options are available for easy disposal into skips, bins, or onto conveyors.
  • It is a fully enclosed system which means that it keeps harmful dusts and waste contained.

This solution is already actively in use on multiple sites around the UK, extracting welding fumes and grinding dust at a naval base and at an oil refinery. It is also currently on site as a power station, as seen below:
