We have made a considerable number of positive changes over the years, but we know there is still more to be done!
At RVT, we follow the environmental waste hierarchy, this means that we always try to prevent waste by repairing and reusing equipment before we recycle it.
The majority of our emissions are generated through transport. As such, we have opened a North & South distribution centre to reduce our transport mileage. We also try to work with environmentally sustainable logistic companies.
RVT provide water treatment systems, diesel particulate filters, solar powered batteries and many more solutions that are designed to protect the environment. We continue to invest a significant amount of capital into R&D every year.
Each year we calculate our scope 1 and scope 2 carbon emissions and partner with Carbon Neutral Britain to offset these emissions via The Woodland Fund™. We are proud to have achieved carbon neutrality and are currently working towards Net Zero.
RVT staff take part in a number of fundraisers that enable us to donate to local and national charities that support those in need, and protect our environment. In 2024, we donated over £500,000 to charity!
We take our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously, and we believe we have a duty to share our technical expertise. As such, we offer a number of free webinars, conferences and online resources to help educate the industry about best practice hazard control measures. We also volunteer our time to support independent bodies such as the ‘Health in Construction Leadership Group’ (HCLG).
We run an internal training academy, to ensure staff are given education and career development opportunities. Furthermore, our mental health first aiders run regular activities to support staff wellbeing, and our internal comms team organise ‘Great Place to Work’ events to ensure that everyone feels included and valued.
RVT Group are passionate about protecting the long-term health of people and the environment, and it is our vision to achieve a world where the impact of site work on life, health and the environment is effectively zero. We have therefore developed an ESG strategy that has been built with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in mind.
