£240 Raised for RNID at RVT’s Spring Clean Bring & Buy Sale

This May, the RVT staff chose to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Deaf People (RNID).

The Charity

RNID supports the 1 in 5 adults in the UK who are deaf or have from hearing loss, as well as the 1 in 8 who suffer from tinnitus. It is the only charity in the UK dedicated to funding research, their three main research areas being hearing loss prevention, hearing restoration and silencing tinnitus.

According to the Labour Force Survey, an estimated 11,000 construction workers reported work-related hearing problems from 2019/20 to 2021/22. Therefore, RNID's valuable work and support aligns with RVT’s mission to protect long-term health.

The Event

On the 2^nd and 3^rd of May, and after a bank holiday of decluttering, the RVT team took part in the RVT Spring Clean Bring and Buy Sale. A range of pre-loved items were brought into the RVT offices, including books, homeware, clothes, brand new toiletries, shoes, ornaments, and children’s toys.

The team were then able to browse the items and pick their favourite to give a new home.

Not only was this a great way to raise money for RNID, but it also promoted sustainable fundraising, allowing our pre-loved items a new lease of life.

How Much Did We Raise?

Team members donated via an honesty box system and, thanks to the support of everyone across the company, £240 was raised for RNID. This amount in addition to the quarterly donations RVT also makes to RNID throughout the year, donating £2 for every NPS score received.

This fundraiser was a great way to support both sustainability and our “Respect and Care for All” core company value. We would like to thank the team for their generosity toward another fantastic cause.
