Festive Hamper Donation To Neurological Rehabilitation Unit

Every year, RVT Group aim to donate 2% of our turnover to charity organisations. We support many charities, including Asthma + Lung UK, Rewilding Britain, The Rivers Trust and many more that align with our company values.

Every December, we support a local cause or charity close to our head office in Dartford, Kent. This year, we donated to the Sapphire Ward, an inpatient rehabilitation ward based in Gravesham Community Hospital.

The Sapphire Ward consists of an emergency care practitioner, registered nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a pharmacist, health care assistants, rehabilitation assistants, a care manager, led by a senior sister with the medical support of a doctor and a therapy dog named Henry. The ward has 21 beds and takes in patients following referral either directly from their homes or an acute hospital. Of the 21 beds, 15 are specifically for specialist stroke rehabilitation care.

After speaking with the Ward Manager, Janet, we found out more about the fantastic work herself and her team do to support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. RVT's board of Directors granted a generous donation budget, allowing the RVT team to buy items for the hampers, including a blankets, chocolates, toiletries, arts and crafts, and some festive goodies.

On 18^th December, a small team of volunteers from our Riverbridge Dartford office visited the ward to donate the hampers to a very grateful group of inpatients, all of which will be spending the holiday season in the unit.

RVT Group are proud to have donated these hampers to the Sapphire Ward and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in arranging and delivering the hampers.
