It is thought that about 10% of the country’s carbon emissions are directly associated with construction activities. The HM Treasury published its ‘Build Back Better’ plan, which includes details of the UK’s 2050 net-zero target. The Government will increase its investment in research and development to a record £22bn annually by 2024-25, to encourage businesses to invest in the technologies we all need in order to achieve net-zero.
