All of our noise control hire solutions have been independently tested and certified to BS EN standards, meeting all the specific safety and quality and performance criteria for UK and European markets.
When designing our SOUNDEX® solutions, in order to create a completely seamless noise barrier, we incorporated an ingenious velcro connection that’s unique to RVT Group and not available anywhere else on the market. The Velcro connectors create a virtually unbroken noise barrier, compared to other solutions that use eyelets and toggles ties for installation.
RVT Group’s SOUNDEX® hire solutions are made entirely from fire resistant materials, which have been independently tested and certified by a third-party approved body.
The SOUNDEX® range of solutions incorporates water resistant technologies of the highest integrity making them safe to suspend from secondary structures.
The ingenious Velcro connection on our noise control solutions enables quick and instant installation, rather than the standard use of eyelets and toggle ties, which is a time-consuming and less effective noise control solution.
The SOUNDEX® range of products utilises non-irritant materials making them safe to handle without the need for extra protective clothing.
All Soundex products are manufactured to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards in the UK, ensuring that the highest standards of product quality are maintained.
The 3C’s® is a proven methodology, devised by the RVT Group, to ensure effective control of excessive levels of noise.
RVT Group believes that effective noise control can be managed in three easy steps:
Position the acoustic barrier close to the noise source (fully enclosing it if possible) to maximise the acoustic shadow area.
Block the line of sight by ensuring the noise barrier is seamless. You may wish to consider whether an enclosure would be more suitable for fully containing the noise.
Use high quality noise barriers, with high sound attenuation, to absorb excessive noise. Screening reflective surfaces like walls may also help to reduce noise bouncing the sound over the barriers..
Recently utilised the acoustic curtains on our site hoarding as the noise from breaking out concrete was too loud for the adjacent pavement. The curtains reduced the noise to an acceptable decibel level meaning we didn't need to provide further protection measures

BS 5288 is the code of practice for noise and vibration control on construction and open sites. Part 1 provides guidance on noise control and recommends the use of the ‘ABC method’ for determining threshold noise levels. This involves measuring existing ambient noise levels outside the dwellings and categorising them A, B or C, with the relevant threshold level derived from the category. For more information please refer to the full code of practice which is available to purchase on line.
Construction activities can generate excessive noise levels, which can negatively impact the environment, as well as those living and working nearby. It is therefore important to monitor noise to ensure that the impact is reduced as much as reasonably practicable.
Yes, we offer free expert advice and a site survey if required. Once we know the full scope of your activities, we can recommend the correct acoustic barrier for your noise challenge.
Our generator enclosure solutions are suitable for enclosing any generator or compressor at any project.
Yes, all RVT’s SOUNDEX® noise control products are wind, water, and fire resistant.
SOUNDEX® products feature a unique Velcro connector; when several curtains or quilts are installed side by side, they create a completely seamless sound barrier fence (unlike other acoustic curtains or sound deadening panels, which end up with gaps where they are cable-tied together). Noise control barriers are not effective when there are gaps between them! The ingenious design of the Velcro connector is not available anywhere else on the market. It also makes our curtains and quilts quick and easy to install.
SOUNDEX® products are made from high sound attenuation materials and have been tested and certified inline with British and European standards; furthermore, many of our products are also BS 7955 scaffolding compliant.
Simply put, it means to put a sound barrier in place so that the source of noise cannot be seen; by its very nature, this will reduce the noise heard by those on the other side of the barrier (in the ‘shadow zone’). The level of noise reduction will depend on the material and quality of the acoustic barrier being used. A high-quality acoustic enclosure, with walls and a roof, will be the most effective way to reduce noise at source, as there will be no line of sight from any angle.

According to the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 (the Noise Regulations), the level at which employers must assess the risk to workers' health and provide them with information and training is 80 decibels. The level at which employers must provide hearing protection and hearing protection zones is 85 decibels (daily or weekly average exposure). The regulation also details an upper exposure limit value of 87 decibels. For more information please read the regulation in full.

Whilst acoustic curtains and enclosures both absorb soundwaves from construction activities nearby, they serve a slightly different purpose.
Acoustic curtains are usually quicker to set up and need to simply be attached to an existing fence or barrier. They offer high levels of sound attenuation but it tends to be less than an enclosure as they rarely have a roof. This makes them ideal for works where large machinery is being used, especially in tight spaces and cities.
Acoustic enclosures can take slightly longer to install, however our enclosures have been designed to be set up in as little time as possible. Acoustic enclosures offer superior noise reduction such as our SOUNDEX® Generator Enclosure, which reduces noise emissions by up to 59.9dB. They are designed to deaden the sound of work taking place within the enclosure, in a fully contained space.

SOUNDEX® Maintenance Enclosure 3500mm x 1800mm x 2145mm (length, width, height)
All SOUNDEX® products are flame resistant, however the SOUNDEX® Cutting Enclosure has the added benefit of a cutting bench. It also features a port for extraction to be fitted to remove dust or fumes. These features make the SOUNDEX® Cutting Enclosure ideal for hot works.
Both acoustic curtains and acoustic enclosures are designed to absorb sound generated by nearby construction activities, but they serve distinct purposes. Acoustic curtains are typically faster to install and can be easily attached to an existing fence or barrier.
They provide strong sound attenuation, though generally less than a full enclosure that includes a roof. This makes curtains ideal for use in confined areas or large outdoor environments where large machinery is in operation.
Acoustic enclosures take slightly longer to set up but deliver superior noise reduction. Our enclosures are engineered for quick assembly and can reduce sound by up to 59.9dB. Enclosures fully contain the noise source, effectively deadening sound within the enclosed space.
