Noise Controlled Effectively During Construction of New School Block

Education
Robert May School

A new block has been built at Robert May’s School. It accommodates a further 150 pupils and holds a new reception, library, four classrooms, and a “dry lab” for scientific, technical, digital, and practical learning. Outdoor decking was also installed around the new block.

Challenge

During the decking installation, pupils, staff and construction workers needed to be protected from the intense noise levels of the chop-saw.

Solution

The Soundex Cutting Enclosure features a cutting bench which was ideal for the groundworkers to use when cutting lengths of decking. It also meant that the sound of the chop-saw was fully enclosed, enabling pupils and staff to continue school life as normal without noise disruptions.
