What is the Dustex® Hydramist 50GT?

The Dustex® Hydramist 50GT is a self-contained mobile dust suppression solution designed to control dense, airborne dust produced by a wide range of construction and demolition site activities. It features a 1,000 litre water tank and is supplied with a heavy-duty chassis frame, making it suitable for all terrains.

This new dust suppression unit generates an impressive throw of up to 50 metres (55 metres with the right wind direction). The jetting mast can tilt from 0-30°, achieving a high reach, and it can also auto oscillate 45°, 90° and 180°.

HANDY FEATURE: it has a pressure washer feature, allowing you to carry out the cleaning of tools, plant, floors and facades on site.

How Does the Hydramist 50GT work?

This solution projects a fine mist of water particles into the air, which intercepts airborne dust particles and pulls them to the ground. Controlling airborne dust using this specialist unit will protect the health of works, improve visibility on site and prevent damage to local property. The unit is mobile and easy to manoeuvre, allowing it to be positioned effectively for different applications around site. It is diesel powered, and a full tank of fuel will provide you with powerful dust suppression all day. It has a handy remote control, so you can operate and manage the unit up to 100m away, saving you time and money.

TOP TIP: Using this hydramist solution to dampen surfaces can also prevent dust from becoming airborne in the first place.

Why is it vital that we control dust on construction sites?

Construction sites are dusty places, and this only increases during the summer months. Once airborne, it is very difficult to capture, contain and control dust effectively. Uncontrolled construction dust can result in a range of life-threatening respiratory conditions in later life such as cancer, silicosis, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). Dust exposure can also lead to non-fatal heart attacks, irregular heartbeat, dermatoses, aggravated asthma, decreased lung function, breathing difficulties and nasal cancer.

The effective management of airborne dust protects both the long-term health of workers on site, residents living nearby, and the local environment.
