Download our beginners guide on how to safely work in a confined space.
This 'beginner level' guide is an ideal introduction for those who are new to working in confined spaces.
So what is a confined space? The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 defines a confined space to be "Any place, including any chamber, tank, vat, silo, pit, trench, pipe, sewer, flue, well or other similar space in which, by virtue of its enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable specified risk". Interestingly, the most common hazard when working in confined space is reduced oxygen, and roughly 50% of injuries sustained in confined spaces happen to those who go in to help. With this in mind, it is imperative that you are fully trained and understand the risks when entering a confined space.
