RVT Group are specialists in temporary Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) solutions.
We provide tailored LEV hire solutions designed to control dust, fumes, vapours, gases and other VOC's during construction, maintenance, resurfacing, welding, factory shut downs, and other industrial activities.
The service we provide includes; free site surveys, expert consultancy, and the supply and commission of bespoke LEV units with TExT certification.
Our LEV engineers have undertaken extensive training to ensure that your team are properly protected from substances hazardous to health. Some of the BOHS LEV Proficiency Qualifications include: BOHS P600 - Methods for Testing Performance of LEV, P601 - Thorough Examination and Testing of LEV Systems, P602 - Basic Design Principles of LEV Systems, and P604 - Performance Evaluation, Commissioning, and Management of LEV. All of our team have also achieved W201/ M200 - Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene.
We hope that this level of expertise gives customers confidence in our service levels and the solutions we specify. All systems are specified inline with HSG258 (HSE's guide to local exhaust ventilation - LEV) and all solutions meet regulatory requirements (such as COSHH).
Once a solution has been specified, RVT Group offer two types of delivery service: delivery with full installation, or delivery only (customer install).
When we provide delivery with full installation, we commission the system and provide a full written report in-line with HSE legislation. This involves a detailed report including the design of the system, information about the hazards it’s intended to control, equipment specifications, training given to staff, PPE controls, and results of the qualitative and quantitative tests.
Quantitative results are based upon meeting certain minimum duct velocities and capture velocities which allow us to ensure the system is capable of capturing and moving the airborne hazard through the ductwork fast enough to ensure there is no drop-out in the duct. Qualitative results are based upon visually demonstrating that the system is operating correctly by using a smoke test and tindel beam to witness the hazard being captured.
If you opt for a delivery only service, we will provide a TExT certificate to confirm that the unit is in full working order, but the customer must check that it is operating correctly once installed on site.
Yes, our LEV consultants are experts in hazard control and can help assess your site requirements, propose the right extraction hood, fan, filter, and duct configuration, to provide a fully compliant solution.
Yes, we have high-pressure fans that can be used as part of the LEV system, that sit outside the work area and operate with narrow and long lengths of ducting runs, making them suitable for confined work areas that are based a long way from the atmosphere.
Yes — for example, for dust we have DUSTEX® DustMaster® Pro and for fumes we have RAVEX® Wandafilta Plus - Extraction & Filtration Kit.
Yes, we offer temporary hire of LEV solutions, which makes them ideal for shutdowns, maintenance, welding, or cutting tasks. Our team will help design and set up the system for your specific project needs.
Particulate filters - Designed to trap heavy particulates such as particles created from cement dust and wood cutting. A medium grade filter like this is also 80% effective at removing smaller particulate matter down to 1 micron in size (PM1 - 1 μm) including some finer dust particles, industrial fumes, and bacteria spores. Fine filters - Ideal for visible dust removal and designed mainly for low-toxicity dusts or where the system is venting to a safe area. Acts as a protective layer when using highly efficient filters up to HEPA standard. High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) - The most efficient filter available on the market, designed to give virtually clean air. Welding fume, burning fume, smoke and even airborne bacteria such as COVID can be caught with a filter of this efficiency. Gas filters - A particulate filter will not prevent gas from passing through it. Work that requires gas to be captured needs a filter with specific materials such as activated carbon. When gas passes across these filters, a chemical reaction causes the gas molecules to stick to the surface of the filter.
Our standard LEV setup includes a capture hood, ducting, a fan, a filter, and a discharge point.
Our LEV systems are designed to extract a variety of hazardous airborne contaminants including welding fumes, solvent vapours, gases, mists, and fine or heavy dust.
We provide a full suite of LEV solutions for fume, dust, mist, gas, and vapour extraction. Our range includes portable fume extractors, duct‑mounted filtration units, and large multi‑spigot LEV systems, tailored to the needs of construction, industrial maintenance, and confined‑space work.
Yes, we can supply an LEV kit which will come with a TExT certificate. The certificate demonstrates that the kit was supplied in good operational condition, but it is the customers responsibility to check that the system is properly installed and working as intended.
Yes, our Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems undergo Thorough Examination and Testing before leaving our warehouse, so you can rest assured that it’s compliant and in peak working condition when it reaches you. Our LEV testing is carried out by qualified LEV engineers who hold BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) certifications (e.g. P600, P601, P604). A Local Exhaust Ventilation system is designed to extract contaminants like dust, fumes, mists, fibres, gases and vapours at the source. LEV hire systems are subject to a Thorough Examination & Test every 14 months, providing evidence that the equipment is in top condition for use on site. The use of LEV equipment on site helps ensure that teams are compliant with COSHH Regulations and adhering to HSE Guidelines.
