Most sites would have a formal agreement with the local council which defines the maximum noise levels and hours of work that have been agreed (known as a Section 61). If a neighbour or member of the public complains to the council about the level of noise from your site, the Council could serve an abatement notice under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
