DUSTEX Mobile Containment Unit 1

RVT Group are pleased to announce the launch of the brand-new Dustex® Mobile Containment Unit, designed to provide dust and debris containment during maintenance in controlled and sterile environments such as hospitals, cleanrooms and laboratories.

What is the Dustex® Mobile Containment Unit?

Measuring 740mm deep x 1760mm wide x 1800mm tall, this unit is ideal for working in corridors. The mobile containment unit features lockable castors and a light aluminium frame, enabling you to easily move the unit along the corridor and secure it into the position you require. You can access the unit via a 1000mm wide door with Velcro fastenings. Once inside the unit, you can safely see those working around you through the clear plastic windows. If you are working in a taller room, the unit can be extended up to 2900mm to fit flush with the ceiling. If you require a slightly wider working area, the base can be extended to 2100mm wide. The unit also features a 300mm vent, allowing you to connect a portable HEPA dust filtration unit, such as the Dustex® Raptor. When used with the dust extraction unit, it will create a negative pressure environment, ensuring there is zero dust migration from the activities you are undertaking.

What Applications can the Mobile Dust and Debris Containment Unit be used for?

This unit is ideal for use during maintenance and refurbishment work. There is enough space inside the unit for a ladder and tools, enabling you to access ceiling tiles, light fittings, fire detection systems, electrics ceiling voids, piping, cabling and HVAC systems.

Without an appropriate dust containment solution, the dust created from these kinds of maintenance activities can migrate into sensitive areas, endangering the health of those on and around site, as well as risking damage to expensive equipment.

What are the Benefits of the Dustex® Mobile Containment Unit?

  • Time Saving – The Dustex® Mobile Containment Unit is quick to assemble, making it ideal for short jobs, such as fault finding, quick reaction work, maintenance and repairing fire alarms.
  • Lightweight and Portable - Mounted on a Trolley, it can be pushed along and easily moved around site. The Trolley also has lockable wheels, making it safe and robust during works.
  • Zero Dust Migration - When used in conjunction with a HEPA dust extraction unit, you can create a negative pressure environment for zero dust migration. This ensures that you protect the health of people nearby, protect sensitive equipment and stay compliant with HSE requirements.
  • Maximum Safety and Awareness - The unit features viewing panels so others on site can see when there is someone working inside.
  • Reduced Clean up Time - After use, you can simply fold the unit down which keeps the contained dust together. It can be cleaned with standard disinfectants. Then, due to its lightweight aluminium frame, the unit can be easily stored and transported.
  • Cost Saving - Hiring this unit will offer huge cost savings compared to the installation of a traditional hardboard arrangement, it is also a more environmentally sustainable solution than disposable plastic sheeting.

Key Features:

  • Lightweight aluminium frame with anti MRSA/ anti-bacterial paint
  • Wipe clean, fire-resistant poly fabric
  • Polyurethane lockable wheels
  • Standard dimensions are 740mm deep x 1760mm wide x 1800mm tall
  • The unit features a 300mm vent, allowing you to connect a portable HEPA Dustex® dust filtration unit
  • Clear plastic viewing panels on the sides and the top for maximum safety
  • Access hatch for ceiling work
  • 1000mm wide door with Velcro fastening
  • Collapsible design makes it easy to put up and then fold back down for storage

Key Applications:

  • Ideal for quick jobs, such as fault finding, quick reaction work, maintenance and repairing fire systems
  • Removing ceiling tiles to access piping, cabling, HVAC etc
  • Replacing ceiling tiles or light bulbs in ceilings Pre-work surveying
  • Small scale renovation, demolition & construction projects

Without this unit, ceiling maintenance jobs can require extensive clean up. For example, if using polythene screening systems/sheets, hazardous dust can spread easily into sensitive environments. Not only does this require more time from site operatives but it is also incredibly hazardous to those on and around site.

The ease of use, greater efficiency and lower long run material costs, makes this unit a much more economical choice than other options on the market.
