News

Recently, 8 staff members took the ‘W201 – Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene’ course. It was a 5-day course with a written exam which covered, human physiology, chemical hazards, physical hazards, hazard evaluation and hazard control. The course is awarded by BOHS under the OHTA International Training Scheme and Qualifications Network.

30 RVT team members now have this qualification. This gives our team a solid foundation for understanding and discussing best practice hazard control solutions with customers. As well as this training course, the RVT team have also gained other BOHS qualifications, including;

  • W503 Noise – Measurement and Its Effects
  • W505 Control of Hazardous Substances
  • P601 Thorough Examination and Testing of Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems
  • and many more.

Other types of qualifications staff undergo at RVT include; Mental First Aider training, Fire Marshall training, COMPEX, IOSH, NEBOSH, CIWEM, IPAF, PASMA, Lean Six Sigma and National Hygiene Certificates. We also conduct internal product training and business development coaching.

We have also enrolled our estimating team on to our brand new RVT Academy. This is an internal learning programme with the aim to ensure that our team are the most knowledgeable and trusted in the industry. This programme includes training on various site hazards and the science behind the most effective control solutions. It also encourages self-led research which enables the team to expand their understanding of occupational hygiene, in order to properly anticipate, recognise, evaluate and control hazards on site. We also write informative whitepapers for our customers, and an allocation of time is dedicated to coaching and mentoring.

RVT place value on the continuous professional development of our staff, as we believe there are two key benefits to our comprehensive training approach; staff can develop their skills and enrich their careers, and it also enables RVT to provide the best possible service for our customers.
