‘Stop. Make a Change.’
The Stop. Make a Change. campaign was developed by the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), which includes representatives from BAM Nuttall, Balfour Beatty, Carillion, Costain, Environment Agency, Highways England, Morgan Sindall, Kier, Lagan, New Civil Engineer, Skanska and VolkerWessels UK.
Its aim is to encourage "leading UK infrastructure contractors and customers the opportunity to speak directly to employees and suppliers about health, safety and wellbeing issues, and to make commitments to actions targeting improved performance in these areas".
Thousands of construction workers will 'stand down' the morning of 18 April to discuss how they can improve the health and safety of their site. The objective is to create actionable steps that will allow for continuous improvements that protect the safety and long-term health of site personnel. These steps will then be reviewed at the Stop. Make a Change. 2018 event.
RVT Group is a committed supporter of this inaugural national event and we urge all our customers to follow suit, to ensure that health and safety is given prime attention before, during and after each and every project undertaken.
Our mission is to protect the long-term health of all those on site or nearby. Good health is priceless. Every life counts. A sentiment that is being driven home by this campaign.
So join us in supporting the Stop. Make a Change. campaign to ensure that all our UK sites become safer places to work.
