The RVT Duck Squad
On Friday 16th March, RVT Group turned their HQ yellow to help raise money for Marie Curie. From wearing something yellow, baking something yellow, eating something deliciously lemony (tough but someone's got to do it!), to an RVT Duck Race along Dartford Creek, everyone got involved in this very worthy cause.
Marie Curie offers vital care and support to people living with a terminal or crippling illness such as cancer, dementia, motor neurone disease, heart failure, and Parkinson's disease, and help for their families too. Marie Curie helps those diagnosed achieve the best quality of life possible, and provides the family of those affected with the emotional support they may need.
Donations from fundraising activities such as ours go towards essential caring services, research into terminal illness, and campaigning for better end-of-life care.
Julie from our Customer Service team commented:
"A fantastic event for an amazing charity. We couldn't have wished for better weather, with radiant sunbeams shining down on our little ducks as they drifted along the River Darent.
Some of the team had fun customising their ducks, and our Duck Rescue Team – Carlos & Dave the boat man – certainly enjoyed chasing the ducks down!
And after the race day excitement, we all enjoyed some lovely 'yellow' treats."
The staff were delighted to raise a total of £252.26 which we matched to donate a total of £504.52 for Marie Curie.
