The Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Project
Part of EGIP is the upgrade of the Glasgow Queen Street approach tunnel which has been closed since March and due to continue through to the mid-August.
The closure allows for some major engineering work to be carried out to renew more than 1800 metres of concrete 'slab' track, as well as putting in place the infrastructure that will carry the overhead electrification system. And RVT Group is proud to be their ventilation partner for the duration of the 20-week period.
The existing track hasn't been replaced for 40 years, and is the largest piece of engineering work to be carried out on the E&G since the railway was built, so to ensure longevity of the line, this upgrade is of vital importance.
This is an ongoing project.
