Rail 2015: RVT noise control turns heads at major event
Despite predictions of adverse weather, both days got-by without being washed away, although some heavy rain on Day 1 definitely suppressed visitor numbers slightly.
With both days boasting a full schedule of keynote speakers from the industry, as well as the many exhibitors displaying products and innovations relevant to the rail sector, the exhibition offered positive insight for all those that attended.
RVT exhibited a line-up of specialist equipment for air quality control (ventilation) and noise control. Ventilation equipment included actual items that were used in the high-profile project at Box Tunnel, and many conversations were had about this intriguing project.
The innovative micro enclosure for noise control was unquestionably the main showpiece on the RVT stand both days. This natty little piece of equipment is unique in the UK and very applicable to the Rail sector. Easily transportable and quick to set up, it can be used to significantly reduce noise pollution during common rail-maintenance tasks, such as rail welding and stressing, rail drilling and sleeper replacement. Providing fit-for-purpose noise-protection for a solo saw in operation at night-time, RVT's micro enclosure is simple but highly effective.
RVT congratulates Rail Alliance and Rail Media for another very successful event.
