A recent redevelopment project at the Grade II listed building Hobhouse Court has combined historical interest with premium location. The site now offers 20 apartments, one office space and one retail space. The building’s historic vaults situated in the basement also required careful restoration.
ChallengeDuring the vault restoration, excavators worked in the enclosed underground vaults; without adequate ventilation, workers could have been exposed to dangerous exhaust fumes and dust.
SolutionRVT used a combination of techniques to ensure that good air quality was maintained for the workers in the basement; centrifugal fans were used to extract out dangerous fumes and dust, axial fans were used to force in clean air, and Diesel filter kits were fitted to the excavators.
