National Clean Air Day 2018
After a hugely successful inaugural awareness day in 2017, Clean Air Day is back and bigger than ever. On Thursday 21st June 2018, National Clean Air Day aims to continue raising awareness about the impact air pollution has on us and our environment and highlight the different ways that we can work towards making our air cleaner.
The average Briton has their life expectancy shortened by 6 months due to long-term exposure to air pollution.
This year even more organisations have pledged to do their part to reduce pollution levels. Inspirational ideas such as driving an electric car to work, working from home and hosting virtual team meetings to cut down travel, and children forming a walking bus to get to school, are just a few activities taking place up and down the country.
The construction industry is a major source of pollution, responsible for around 4% of particulate emissions, more water pollution incidents than any other industry, and thousands of noise complaints every year.
Protecting ourselves and our environment by using specialist equipment such as noise enclosures, fume filters and dust control equipment, is paramount in achieving a cleaner atmosphere for all.
So why not use Clean Air Day 2018 as the perfect opportunity to ditch your car and walk, cycle or even skip to work! Nothing is too small to help protect our precious environment. The more people doing their bit, adds up to a huge contribution to ensure our planet's longevity for generations to come.
