Last month marked our first Action on Dust summit.
3rd July 2019Last month marked our first Action on Dust summit. Held at London's BMA House, the fully-booked conference brought together influential figures from across the industry to take 'Action on Dust'. Throughout the day, we hosted discussions from a range of health experts including David Fishwick, Chief Medical Advisor at HSE and Jennie Armstrong from BOHS.
Our workshop discussion at the end of the summit revealed that many delegates felt strongly that effective training is the greatest weapon against dust-based hazards. Knowing what the dangers are and how best to minimise or eradicate them is fundamental to protecting site personnel and end clients.
With this in mind, we've pulled together a list of upcoming courses designed to offer a firm understanding of different aspects of dust control. We would recommend:
Developing Effective Procedures 24 July 2019
Behaviour Change: Achieving Health & Safety Culture Excellence 31 July 2019 - 01 August 2019
Noise - Occupational Noise Control Workshop 22 October 2019
LEV – Practical Management of Local Exhaust Ventilation Controls 23 October 2019
Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) - Health Surveillance and Exposure Control Please email HSE directly for course dates
BOHS course

The above courses run cyclically, so if you are unavailable on the dates above but would like to attend, it's worth contacting HSE and BOHS directly to find out future dates.
It's also worth bearing in mind that RVT run our own CPD accredited Effective Dust Control courses alongside tailored presentations to meet your organisation's needs.
